Today I had the pleasure to sit and wait for two, count them TWO different trains to pass in front of me before I could continue on my various journeys around town. The first train must have had 200 cars in its tow and the second somewhere around 50. As I was sitting there I started thinking about how dumb train transportation really is. As far as we've come with technological things like computers, phones, everything else we use on a day to day basis, etcetera, we still have no better way to transport large quantities of goods. I have no ideas or suggestions over this matter but found myself in awe over having to spend an extra 30 minutes out of my day waiting on a slow moving, rail-run, box-car-hauling vessel that's extremely limited as to where it goes and gets there even slower. You'd think someone could have dreamed something up by now. Star Trek may have been on the right path with the whole tele-porter thing after all! I may stay home this weekend to watch old reruns and try to piece together one of these things.

five vignettes
I had some video from this past weekend I couldn't really do anything with so... one word: five vignettes!
- chelsea and eric get dealt with.
- dave helps jason with his master cheffing whilst listening to killer music.
- i hunt down jason's "straight" hair.
- dave lectures on cleanliness.
- jason and kris get handled.

the lemon ranger

This year we learned a few new things up at the lake:
- whiskey is not for everyone.
- the sun can hurt your skin if you don't put sun paint on.
- thirty percent chance of rain means there is a possibility it will rain.
- a tents rain fly should be used even if there is a 70% chance of sun.
- laffy taffy jokes are hysterical.
- Jason is ridiculously good at non-athletic ping pong ball games like "bing pong".

Remote Controls
So for the past month or two(at least) I've been working/staying up in Tacoma, Washington. I've been staying at the same hotel the whole time and this morning I finally noticed something about the remote and found it quite peculiar; the buttons don't make any sense. Either this remote is an advancement in technology we haven't seen yet and this hotel is on the cutting edge, or it's really old and out dated. I don't ever recall a TV/AM-FM radio combo being sold. Either way here's a pic so you can scratch your head with me.

One more thing on remote controls: I was at a family gathering this past weekend and overheard a cousin talking to my grandma. She mentioned her TV remote was no longer working and asked if he could fix it. He said he could try and went to tell his mom they were going to need to swing by grandma's on the way home so he could take apart her remote to try to diagnose the problem. He was serious. It made me wonder if they knew they could pick up a new one for nine bucks, but then again who am I to stop his good time. I should probably just give her the hotels remote.
